The measurements are based on the sweater after washing. The sweater might increase in cm when washed. The fit of the sweater is slim fit, and it gives approximately 40 - 50 cm positive ease (almost doubles in size), so it’s recommended to stay true to your normal sizing.

Material

Organic merino DK from Thelma Steimann, the yarn is 100% Organic merino wool. Approx 225m/100g in each skein. Wonderful and soft base to work with.

Tension gauge swatch

Make sure to check your tension by creating a gauge swatch before starting your project. Cast on 36 stitches and knit 32 rows in ; k 2 sts, p 2 sts* with 3 mm needles. Everyone’s tension is different, so if your tension is too tight and your gauge swatch measures too little, change to a thicker needle. If your tension is too loose and your gauge swatch is too wide, change to a thinner needle.

Good to know

The sweater is knitted top down with 2 x 2 rib. The yoke and the neckline is a connected tube and is later divided by the armpits to sleeves and body. The body and sleeves are knitted with decrease. The body is divided at the bottom to create the slit in the front and from there knitted back and forth. The dropped stitches in the sleeves are created after the sleeve has been knitted to full length. Instead of binding off the stitches as you would normally, the stitches are dropped and pulled to create that destroyed effect. To secure the stitches you simply thread through them so they stay in place and so they won’t unravel more after you weave in the ends.

This effect is optional. It’s your sweater so feel free to skip this effect and bind off as you would normally do.

The yarn quantity required is based on the average, and is therefore an approximate number. The yarn given up for this pattern is usually not knitted on such small needles, but to ensure that the sweater’s form won’t deform with usage, I’ve chosen to work the yarn like this. I recommend you to alternate by working with two hanks at a time so the color blends more evenly in the project. When you knit with both hanks at the same time, you simply change them out in every other row. Here is a good example on how to do it if you’re not familiar with the technique:
